Secondary School Applications
Admissions to secondary schools are co-ordinated by the Local Authority (LA). Parents and carers should apply online, if you cannot apply online you can download a Common Application Form (see below) to complete. You should list the schools that you wish to apply for, in order of preference.
Our advice when completing the Common Application Form would be:

Applications for Selective School Places (11+)
Several parents and carers have expressed an interest in their children sitting the 11+. Please make sure that you register your child should you wish them to take the entrance exam.
The majority of information can be found at the Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex (CSSE) website. www.csse.org.uk
The key information, which I have taken directly from the website, is as follows:
The Information Guide for 2021 Entry will be published on the website in the Summer Term.
2021 Entry Examination: Saturday 7th November and Monday 9th November 2020
Registration for 2021 Entry: 19th May 2020 until 1st July 2020.
All Important Dates will be published in due course.
We would recommend that parents and carers look on this site for practise papers and information.
From November 2020 you can apply online for your child’s primary (Reception) or junior (year 3) school place.
You must submit an application by the national closing date in January 2021. Applications received after this date are considered late and will reduce your chance of being offered a place at your preferred schools.
Admission Arrangements
How to apply for mid-year admissions
We are a single site primary school. We are a one-form entry school with an annual intake of 30.
To apply for a school place for your child, you need to follow the following procedure:
For all year group applications including Reception – you must apply for your child’s school place via the Essex County Council’s web page:www.essex.gov.uk/admissions.
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a letter from Essex County Council informing you if a place is available or not (this can take up to 3 weeks). If a place is not available you will be added to our waiting list.
In the event of oversubscription places will be allocated using the following criteria in the order given:
In the event of oversubscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given the highest priority.
