Somehow we are already through 8 months of the school year! I guess time literally does fly when you're having fun! Throughout these 8 months, the children have been working incredibly hard and have been steadily improving the quality with which they are able to complete their tasks.
Across this term, they have consolidated their knowledge in fractions and using the 4 different operations in maths. In English, they have continued to write in the style of various genres and are enjoying the class book "How To Train Your Dragon". The start of the summer term signaled a new topic for the remainder of the year, with our learning focusing around the Anglo-Saxons. The children are enjoying learning about this group of people and were fascinated to learn that the name 'Essex' was originally made up by them!
Whilst we are coming towards the end of the academic year, there is still lots of important learning happening within the classroom so please ensure the children continue to read at home, complete their homework and practise their spellings and times tables.
